Help me pick a combination
I have a few bolt on '87 L98. I don't have a lot of $$$ to throw at it but I want to pick up some power across the board. What I am thinking is aluminum L98 heads, home bowl ported/gasket matched. A stock LT1 or LT4 cam with 1.6 roller tip rockers. The LT4 cam specs are: 203 intake; 210 exhaust; 476 intake lift; 480 exhaust lift; 115 centerline.
I'm not sure about the TPI. If I port match/clean up the stock parts will it flow enough for the heads/cam? Would the ZZ4 cam be a better choice? I might consider waiting to add aftermarket TPI if these would be a huge difference.

Chuck, the heads are a good idea.
For the cam I would go with the ZZ4, ZZ9, or Comp Cam 08-304-8. 1.6 roller rockers.
