Help!!

Ok, a couple things. My EGR valve has some wierd looking thing bolted in to the base. It almost looks like a wire hooks on to it but after close inspection I don't see what it could possibly do. Does anybody else have this or is this just some rig from the guy I bought the TPI from. Second, I just finished porting my plenum and I have moved down to the intake. Where the runners attach there is some type of radius inside. It looks like ****ty casting to me but I don't know if it has a purpose. It isn't flash. Anybody know what I mean? Should I remove this material? Are there any tech articles on porting a TPI intake because I looked and didn't find any?
Third, an aftermarket wiring harness came with this TPI. It was in a street rod. I think it's a sentech or a painless. Does anyone know if this is going to cause me any problems? I was reading a board on camaroZ28.com and they said something about no hookups for the smog pump and EGR valves. What the hell? I didn't think the computer controled the smog pump? Can't I use my EGR valve now? I want this thing to be 100% emissions legal. I do know that aftermarket harnesses don't have any hookups for the electric fan and thats no problem, but I need my emissions equipment. Thanks

Its an EGR temp sensor. The painless harness does not have a wire to hook up to that. It does have wires for the EGR solenoid and diverter valve (smog pump part).
Is the base off? Match all the ports and clean up anything that looks like it would restrict flow. If you are talking about the radius at the very end of the base where the runner attaches, yes they all have that.
Cant say. If it was hooked up properly, it will be fine.
