intake ques

here's the deal. I have alum L-98 heads with the old style center intake bolts. Instead of buying a new edelbrock TPI intake, can I buy a corvette intake and port the poop out of it. Will it work, and what about theh EGR? This is my first swap invloving emissions and computers.

thanks everyone
Jeremy

Well, I'll asssume the AL L98 heads are the GM ones, which would mean that they were the Y-body ones. So yes the Y-body manifold will work, however, I believe that the manifolds' runners are the same between the Y- and F- body cars. You would have to heavily port the manifold, and then you would need runners. The TPI has to be attacked as a whole, not one peice at a time. That is one of the inherent design flaws in the TPI.
