TPI plenum polishing!?

Ok,
I've seen a lot of posting about polished TPI setups. I was wondering if anybody could give some insight on to the procedures that were taken. I would like to polish my superram setup. Its completely stock and is very rough. Check out some pictures at the page in my sig.

I also plan to polish my system since I picked up the Aluminum Plenum Extension yesterday. It's a really rough texture.

I would assume that you use sand paper (coarse then finer and finer) first, then some kind of buffing compound followed by a coat of clear paint or powdercoat.

Thanks Ryan and Greg.
The project seems overwhelming but I'll try it. I'll start collecting the tools and plan on doing it during the summer.

There's also a procedure in the Tech section of this board.
