help !!! fuel problem in 87 350 tpi/ modified air lids?

the fuel mixture seems to be messed up, but it is not always like this, sometimes it works, if i spray fuel in, no nos, then it works better, what could be the problem,if you floor it it stops and if you let off the gas the rpm's go up some, please help!!!!!!!!

also, is there a modified/raised airlid for the 350 tpi

I dunno.

but I know somebody with a TPI corvette that lets off the throttle while he's spraying nitrous and his car runs faster than with nitrous +full throttle.

Is this only when you use NOS? As for the running faster when he lets off maybe it has to do with the o2 sensor inputs getting read and more fuel is introduced by the computer to even it out, I think I said it right. Basically, because he's not at WOT the computer adjusts the injector pulse rate by using the o2 sensor.

And if it runs faster this way it's safe to say the nos kit is to fuel rich (for safety) on the top end and could use a smaller jet.

heh, the guys name is Don and he's a kickboxer & not really into racing. Now he paints for a custom shop in St Louis.
The engine is a stock L98 with stock TPI on it and it runs in the 11's with hard radials, highway gears, and a stock 700R-4. That's on the nitrous with the throttle closed. I'm not positive why he runs so good that way and I don't worry too much about it. He doesn't care either and laughs about it. He has his NOS on a toggle switch (weird) and discovered by accident one night doing a bottle pass and letting off the gas while forgetting to flip the toggle off for the NOS. The car pulled much harder after he let off.
I have no idea how it's jetted and he doesn't want my help. The guy is straight up lucky is all I can say, and he enjoys his car.
I just thought I'd share that strange bit of information.
