Do the little things first if not already done.
Tune up with good plugs and wires
Underdrive pulleys
K&N air filter
Port plenum
Air foil
AFPR
sub frame connectors
strut tower brace
good shocks and struts
then you can move to cam, heads, new ignition, headers, high flow cat.
I think that should get you started. There is a lot of stuff listed in the tech articles on this web site as well check those out.

1. 2200-2500 rpm stall converter
2. Drag radials

Worth .3-.6 seconds.

there are hundreds of things you can do. Where would you like to start?

taking care of the torque converter, tranny, and tires for traction is a very good start.
then I would optimize the exhaust as much as possible.

Then move on to any number of things pertaining to the TPI.

what are you wanting to work on?

I would like to start with bolt-ons ,headers and tpi work. what would you recommend. Also what dot tires hook up good off the line under $120 a tire. I was thinking about 245/45/16 for the rear and 245/50/16 for the rear. do you know anyone who makes these. Thanks

I use a Mcreary Road Star in 15" that works great. You will have to check for a 16" version.

A friend of mine has run the Nittos but they didn't work out so good for traction.
I don't think he could pull better than a 1.70 60' time with the Nittos.

On a budget,
you could get some TES headers and port the flanges yourself.
An RPM switch to control your torque converter lockup is a cheap mod good for a nice gain.

Underdrive crankpullies work well.

Higher ratio rockers may work well for you too.

Those are some lower buck boltons. They should all add solid power.
