Swapping to TPI, Serpintine setup?
Swapping to TPI, Serpintine setup?
I currently have an 87 IROC with the wonderful LG4 engine. I found an 85 IROC and took out all the TPI stuff (harness, pully's, brackets, heads, computer, sensors) and I'm going to be converting my LG4 to the 305 H.O. TPI specs. The only question I have is if I will be able to keep my serpintine setup so that I can add a supercharger at a later time, or if I will have to swap over to the 85's pulley setup?

You may keep the serpentine setup since it was a factory option starting in 1988 and they also came with TPI also. There will only be a wiring mod to do. The 1985 TPI harness has the A/C on the laft side and the alternator on the right. You will have to extend both of these connectors since they are swapped on a serpentine system. That's all I can think of, I did the same mod alnost. I did the TPI then the serpentine last.
