Hi, I am installing a built 88 350 tpi into my 79 Monte Carlo. My question is, I took off the A/C and the smog pump. Now what? It has the serpentine drive that I do not want to get rid of, but something has to be there for the tensioner to work right? I have heard that some heavy duty TBI trucks come without a smog pump. Is that true? If it is would the brackets work? Please help me guys, I want to finish this project! Any replies would be a dream come true.

 

You can use the f-body serpentine bracket, just delete the smog pump & AC, meaning that you'll have the proper bracket, just no smog pump or AC. You will need a shorter belt too.
