AFR Elininator 195cc's and TPI?
i have a 406 in a 71 nova that is way too much "strip" for my liking and would like to do either a forged bottom end, tpi small block with a healthy does of nitrous(at least 150shot) or forged low compression, turbo/blower tpi motor...
using the AFR 195cc Eliminators from my 406ci.
I'd obviously give away a ton of horsepower by bolting the TPI on(stock w/ Holley TB, but how much?
the motor now makes in the 500 area witha vic. jr. 750, solid flattappet (252/260@.050, 106lsa, 543/563") AFRs, etc.
would a XFI cam like this work well with nitrous or boost? being a 113 lsa and rpm range about that of TPI?
"XFI" 260 Hydraulic Roller Camshaft
Chevy 262-400ci 1955-98
Lift: .560"/.555" w/1.6 Rockers
Duration: 260°/270°
RPM Range: 1200-5200
249-12-465-8
Good low end & mid-range cam. Exhaust upgrade preferred. Smooth torque curve.
Operating Range: 1200-5200 RPM
Duration Advertised: 260° Intake / 270° Exhaust
Duration @ .050'' Lift: 210° Intake / 218° Exhaust
Valve Lift w/1.6 Rockers: .560'' Intake / .555'' Exhaust
Lobe Separation Angle: 113°
And how would this work on a 350 compared to 406,
i know the 406 is gonna help on cubes, but i would almost rather use my "010" 4 bolt 350 block for the build.
any idea what it would make for power/torque?
i'd like to run low 13's on motor, 11's on the bottle or boost...
thanks, Keith

i know the xfi 218-224 cam with 195s will push a 4,200lb chevy reg cab truck into the 12s in a 355 with a ported TPI setup edelbrock base, slp runners and ported to match plenum and 52mmTB

just out of curiosity, what was your trap speed with that setup in a vehicle that heavy?
what some opinions on the best hyd. roller cam for a 406 with afr heads and tpi?
dont wanna go too radical because boost is hopefully in the near future.
