The best advice I can give you is to do a search or cruise around the message boards, see what other people are using and the results they are getting, then draw your own conclusions. There are lots of TPI engine upgrade parts on the market. Or, call JEG'S @ (800) 345-4545 / Summit @ (800) 630-3030 / AFR Cylinder Heads @ (661) 257-8124, or contact the sponsors of this board.

Re: Cam, heads, intake for my TPI

I have not installed them yet, but I decided to go with AFR 195 Eliminator Cylinder heads, Comp Cams XFI268HR13 camshaft, Crane Gold 1.6:1 rocker arms, headers from Dyno Don (on this board), Pro-Built street / strip transmission rebuild kit and Edge 9.5" 2600 stall torque converter, for my next round of modifications. Current configuration is in my sig.

Re: Cam, heads, intake for my TPI

The best advice I can give you is to get a cam with a low RPM power range. Something that starts at 1,000 or so and goes to 5,000 or so. These cars are made to be torquey, not to make power at 6,000 rpms. if you get the vortec heads you have to get a special intake, and by the time you get the heads worked on to handle a good size lift, you could have bought a set of aluminum heads. dont waste the money on an intake unless you find one used for half price or so, port yours out. time consuming, but saves a lot of money. get some good runners and bigger injectors. headers. must have headers and anew y-pipe. good luck.

First, what size engine?
What are you looking to do with the car? Drag race? Street/Strip? Just above stock?
How big is your budget?
There is just too much, especially for teh Small Block Chevy, to just shoot out a random combo. Without knowing that, there is no real way to figure out wtf you want to do.

Re: Cam, heads, intake for my TPI

Chevy 350, put in a Toyota hilux.
Street/strpi and drag for fun.
Budget, so much it takes..
Today I have ported 305 heads, big valves, 252 comp cam, but this does not work!!
Original intake, and runners.
it has been burned a new chip, but I dont have any hp, it dont have any more to give at 3500 rpm..
I need something that works great. Good torq, around 350hp..
