As it says, what would cause this. It comes on and off but didn't throw any codes? It did throw a 22 once but why? The TPS is new and set right.

there's a post currently a several post down) titled "Dme up the wall!" by 88gta305 that states the same problem. I know many 3rd genners have this problem. You are not alone. I have the same problem although nothing is wrong with the car, no codes are thrown, and driveability isn't affected.

When we bought my son's 83Z the check engine light would come on while driving it but we didn't get any codes. We noticed a connector and short piece of wire lying on the passenger side frame but had no idea what it went to. While going through the GM shop manual I noticed that one of the emissions equipment notes included a computer memory power wire connected to the positive post of the batter. Sure enough, when we spliced a piece of wire to the connector/short wire we stopped getting a check engine light on the highway once the car warmed up, unless there was something wrong and then we would get a code. Without the memory power wire connected the computer "loses" its mind every time the engine shuts off and you get no codes.
