Help! My computer is going stupid I think...

I have been experiencing a no-start condition on the ZZ4TPI after an extended run. You turn the car off and then try and crank it again, and it turns over, just no start. I thought it might have been something to do with a mis-adjusted IAC. However, it did it too me today. I ground the A and B term of the ALDL together and nothing! (thinking I'd reset the IAC) No blink, no code 12, nothing. After leaving it grounded and turning the key back and forth a few times the computer reactivated and the car started. Is there something in my ignition that is going bad? I have an aftermarket chip so I don't think the VATS is a player anymore. Does the ignition send something to the computer when you turn it on? Any help, this one has me baffled.

Could it be a faulty ignition module, bad ecm? Maybe ignition cylinder?
I would probly check all of your electrical connections to the computer and anything else in that area. That would be my first thought, don't know what thats worth but hope it helps.

Can you hear the fuel pump activate when you first turn on the key? Though a fuel pump generally does not "return" to life, just verify that you can hear the "fuel pump" for the first 2 seconds.

I got a couple of "free starts" with my fuel pump before it totally "bit the dust".

You know, I don't remember the fuel pump charging, however, I did check the fuel pressure gage and I had over 30lbs of pressure on the rail during the no start condition.

One time my car had basicaly the same problem. In my case the ecm had taken a crap by holding all 8 injectors open at the same time as long as the ignition switch was on. code 12 dose not always mean that the computor is working. I had this problem for about a month before it wouldn't start at all. That time I played with it for about half an hour and found that I had a crankcase full of gas. It is amazing how much fuel 8 injectours cant pump out in that amount of time. This problem did not show up on the scantool.
