tps taking a crap on me???

wheni pulled up to a stop light tonight the car seemed to want to stay idleing at around 1500 rpm and when i held the brake and tapped the gas pedal just a bit it idled down. could this be the tps going out on me? or could it be the tv cable? its almost like it wont kickdown and when u rev it a bit it will idle down thanks for all the help!

Sounds more like your MAF sensor could be dead, or you could have a vacuum leak.

Grab a can of carb cleaner and spray around all the vacuum hoses and their connections, throttle body gasket, runner gaskets, etc. If the engine idle changes any when you spray a particular area, there's your leak. Hope this helps.

sounds to me like a binding throttle cable or crudded up throttle body. Unless i'm misunderstanding somthing.

A while back my car was doing the same thing. Turns out it was a bad throttle body. Try to move the throttle arm back and forth (twards the front to the back of the car). If it moves then the TB is bad. There is a lifetime grease inside the throttle body to lubicate the shaft and if you spray carb cleaner or any other kind of caleaner not designed for use with this grease, it will remove it and cause the TB to wear out.

nope never screwed with the iac but i did the tps i have my plenum off and polishing it right now i also got new runners so once i get it back together i will mess with it more.. this is really stumping me what it is i think i will mess with the tps and see if that does anything.. i cant believe that a tb can go bad but i have heard of weirder things i guess.any one else heard of a tb going bad?
