TPI Swap I know I know.... Not another one

yea another one I would like to swap a tpi motor into my s10 to keep it FI problems is I have Plenum, Sensors and computer I do not have an actual motor to bolt this stuff to my question is should I keep and eye out for for and 85 or newer motor or will any sbc work(55-85)?

Any SBC will work, the only difference you might run across is the bolt angle on the heads vs whats on the intake. 87-up heads are compatible with 87-up intakes. It can be corrected fairly easy, just a FYI.

The other consideration is that a TPI might not be the best match for a half-truck. Unless you're running about a 2.56 gear, the torque range is not optimal for the lightweight truck. I considered that for my Sonoma, but am leaning toward the LT1 instead.

wouldnt the lt1 have the same torque range essentially as a tpi (with the lt just have more tq obviously)
