Can it be kept in open loop?

Is there any way not prom related to keep my car in open loop even when its warmed up?

I broke my ostrich cable and am using my old 305 chip at the moment until the new cable arrives. I have a bad 02 sensor so it runs like crap when warm but is smooth when cold.

Just looking for a temporary fix for 10 or so days

Disconnect the O2 sensor.

Will that actually keep it in open loop or just make it run worse in closed loop?

It will stay in open loop if it doesn't see an O2 sensor output.
