Am I nuts?
Am I nuts?
Is it just me or are TPI cars faster when you first start them up in the morning?
And if i'm not nuts, how do I keep it going that fast?
Also note that my tranny fluid is brown-ish.. Could it be warming up and allowing the tranny to let go a little?
Thanks

Its faster cause the motor is still cold and therefor so is the intake and the air flowing in.If you wanna keep it that fast put a small shot on it.

Steve,
First, and foremost, if you are "going fast" first thing in the morning, you might have determined how the transmission fluid got burned. Change it as soon as you can, and try to get it all out. The torque converter has a drain plug on its perimeter, and can be accessed by removing the flywheel inspection cover.
Second, the likely reason your car feels more powerful when cold is that it is running on a richer fuel mixture. This is common to all EFI systems, and one of the main reasons people try to lower the coolant temperature to more reasonable levels. Check the message archives on cooling yout engine, or check this file:
