TIming Question for 91 L98.........
TIming Question for 91 L98.........
i was planning on advancing my timing some more this week, when i realized something,
when you advance with a carb and vacuum advance, you can go till it pings, then back off 1-2 degrees, well, on a tpi system, wont the knock sensor hear the ping and automatically retard the timing, making it pointless???
or is this the reason you can only go to about 12 degrees max base timing????
chips from companies other then ed wright dont really do it for me either, why pay 300 for a chip, then not be able to reprogram it if its not right, or you can still go further, how hard is it to learn about the spark and fuel curves, to be able to buy the equipment to program, and do it yourself????
any info to any of these questions would be great......

Check out the tech article that I wrote (linked in my signature). It will give you a head start on PROM programming.
