Strut Tower Brace

I've been surfing all ove this site and I have seen many different types and styles
of STB's. I have a MAC STB on my 88 GTA
but the problem I have is that is hits the underside of the hood!! I squashed it down
with a hydraulic press (off the car) and now it does not hit anymore but it look like crap!! Has anyone had this problem? What kind of STB can I replace it with?

Thanks
Mark

I have an edelbrock with a 88 formula tpi.

It 'rubs' on the hood bracing closer to the passenger side. I just ground that area of the bracing away.

I have a Hotchkis STB on mine. It touches the insulation just a bit, but it doesn't touch any metal and it hasn't caused any problems. You can get them in red and black from Jeg's or probably any other performance parts store. You can maybe even get one at your local parts store.

I have the Kenny Brown strut tower brace. It is a 3 point brace and I have no problems with it rubbing anywhere. Installation was very easy too. And the price was only about $130.

I'm using BMR's STB . It's very original looking and cost less than the others too!!
