Energy Suspension Trans mount.....
Someone replied to my earlier topic concerning the bad vibs I'm getting through my car at 60mph+ and stated that they had the same problem when they installed an Energy Suspension Trans mount b/c the mount is actually taller than the stock which effects the pinion angle. Anyone else with a similar experience? The car vibrates & hums violently at 60+. I've swapped u-joints, driveshafts, balanced tires, etc.

I have heard of this problem before...
I believe what most of the people i have talked to have done is to shim the trans crossmember to lower the angle...
1/8" or so is what you need to shim to get the angle back to proper alignment...
hope that helps,
Chris

I installed an Energy Suspension trans mount 2 weeks ago which fixed my clunking under hard acceleration, but now my Y-pipe is vibrating against the floor pan.I never thought about shimming it.I'll try it.

Im having similar problems with my car and its really starting to get annoying, but the humming and vibrations start at about 75-80 in my car. I wish I could find the cure for this!!!!....someone told be it might be my rear end gears may not be set up perfectly, but I doubt thats the problem. Someone please help. Thanks

Humming and vibrations at 75+ MPH is caused by an out-of-balance driveshaft. Either get your stock one balanced, or buy an aluminum driveshaft.

I had the stock rubber one...it ripped in half, then a steel one...center bolt kept coming out...I am currently using the enregy suspension mount the center bolt hasn't come out but the two side bolts did so the only thing holding it in is the single crossmember bolt
You can get a 1LE mount from SLP or gmpartsdirect.com for under $20. It is much stronger than stock and won't vibrate like the poly mounts. I have a 1LE mount in both of my cars and have yet to break one.
