As I was taking off my old exhaust manifold on the passenger side I broke the connection to a sensor. I took the sensor out and let all the coolant out. The sensor is in the middle of the block(or the head, not sure) underneath the exhaust manifold. There is a pin that goes into the sensor, I think it is the coolant temperature sensor. The pin goes into the sensor but it will not stay in. Does anyone know what sensor this is and how I can fix it? I really need some help I did a search and couldn't really get a clear answer. Info on my car is in my signature.

Definately sounds like your coolant temp sensor to me....I did the same thing when I installed my headers. Just buy a new sensor....a lot of the new ones even come with a pigtail with a better connector.

If it is on the passanger side it is the sensor for the fan switch. But I agree, just replace it!
