car still with issues

ok i finally think that i am starting to get somewhere. i drove my car back to school this week after replacing the fuel pump relay. drove sunday night and started getting a little hesistation, nothing major, and it didnt want to die like it did in the past. drove around town to make a few errands and all seemed fine. today i started coming home and hesitation like crazy. l learned about detination and pre ignition and stuff like that but have never actually experienced it so i dont know it was doing this. at a cruise it would buck and cherk and i believe it was mis firing, it was changing the rpms, and i could hear it crackling thru the exhaust. i could let off the throttle and get back on and it would buck like it use to. i got off my exit and got off the throttle and it started idling rough and died, back to my original symptoms. i finally got it started back up and started heading into the town thats near mine. i figured i wasnt going to make it since it likes me to keep moving so i pulled over in a rocky area and it died again. started messing with it and i thought it might of been the connection to the fuel pump relay. i started messing with it, the car would be running ok and then just die with the fuel psi being fine. that that was kind of weird. i was messin with it and the car would start to idle weird, psi going down. i unplugged the relay and plugged it back in, started up just fine back at normal psi. it was fine then started runnin rough again and i was even able to have it idle rough and i hurried and unplugged the relay, plugged back in and it smoothed out and psi was normal? i hooped back in to leave and saw the service light on for the first time. 2 codes (43)electronic spark control and (54)fuel injection which was from me unplugging the relay. i was able to drive it a little farther and hesitation again so i pulled over again. did the unplugging think again checked a couple connections at distr. if you are familiar with the canister lines, theres the hard line from the tank which connects to the purge valve and the other end to cansiter, also a smaller line from the valve which goes over to the manifold which i guess it introduces the gases back into the intake track. disconnected the one off the hard line and the smaller one going near the manifold. i took off and it acted like nothing near happened. the whole time on the highway it was acting up it would not act up but not any longer than 5 minutes it would act up again, from where i unplugged the canister lines to my house is over 20 minutes and it never acted up again. any suggestions to do now? i did advance my timing a while back for a school task from 6 to 8, should i retard it back. Any HELP is ppreciated. SORRY ITS SO LONG BUT ID RATHER GIVE MORE THAN ENOUGH INFO THAN NOT ENOUGH.

Re: car still with issues

anybody have any ideas. For some reason when i disconnected the canister system it went away. the 43 i have, the esc, does it control the canister purge or anything like that? Does anybody know if the canister purge valves go bad? would that cause issues.
