i was driving around lookin for some scrap yards lookin for some parts for my car when i found a tpi 5.7 with 88000 original miles with stainless steel headers and all and right on the back of the block it says 5.7... the dumbass at the yard thoguht it was a 305 so i got the motor and altanator and ac pump and all for 350 bucks and it runs like a champ with about 290 hp and i also went to an auction and found a numbermaching 1991 rs 5sp and i picked it up for a grand the car is like new sept for a cracked dash pad.

Re: geuss what i found guys
now all you need is a suspension to make the car move right, i'd rather have an l03 with that rs suspension, been there done that.
i actually traded a friend of mine two nights ago, i drove his formula with an L03 and "performance suspension". i'll tell you what the car handled WAY different then my GTA, and i forgot what it is to drive an l03 car lol...
first of all, i believe my car has a shift kit now, because his auto shifted so fricken smooth i didn't even know it did, wheares anything past granny throttle on my car will crank you back in the seat on shifts and 2nd will chirp on a cold night at WOT. Second, my car needs shock absorbers, nuff said. The l03, is,,,passable, but sadly it reminds me that soon i'll be back in my ball less 2.4 liter truck for the winter, dreaming of having my 85 on the road for next summer. l03 kind of feels like a peppy v6 in too heavy of a car, you don't even think about the extra 300 lbs of the gta when you're in it, the l98 easily makes up for that difference.
good find and good luck, unless you plan on running the TBI(a viable option) you have quite a swap ahead of you.
Tenpin, your car looks just like my project car, t tops gloss red, gta lights, i dig man!
