As an alternative to Ceramic, I've used VHT1600 paint with great results. Prep is the key: You must strip off all old paint, corrosion, and oil. Once you have bare metal, clean it with thinner or Methyl Ethyl Keytone. Spray two medium coats onto the parts, bake at 240 degrees for an hour, then 400 degrees for an hour.

It'll cost you about $16. plus your time.

If you're looking for something cheap and effective, try POR-20. Bake it for an hour at 400F. This stuff works great!!
