Track Results with Convertor!!
Track Results with Convertor!!
Well I got the stall convertor in -- 2800 Vigilante.
My 60 ft times were incredible, I pulled a 1.79 with alot of 1.80's.
Although my 1/4 mile time wasn't what I expected due to a 25 mph head wind I only got a best of 13.96 @ 95 mph.
Hopefully the new intake and runners and some better conditions will help out.
Before with the stock convertor I never had a problem hooking up, now it is a chore to say the least but very rewarding when it does.
Leaving the line like that is awesome.

Great 60's Bob, what tires and what were you're old 60 foots?
I'm stuck at 1.90's on SZ50's and the SLP convertor (hadn't really been able to work seriously on launches since I got the 383 in it). When I rebuild the tranny, I'll be looking at the Vigilante as well.

Kevin,
My previous best 60 ft were 1.95 on SZ50's with the stock convertor.
I never had a problem hooking up at the track with this combo.
With the new convertor I now run Nitto Drag Radials. With less than ideal track conditions they will go up in smoke off the line if I nail it but if it hooks up you get great 60 ft's.
