Is the Mini Ram worth the extra money???

I'm going to build a 383 from an '89 350 block. I currently have a 305 TPI motor. I'm trying to figure out if the mini ram is worth all the extra money (well over $2k when all is said and done) or if I should just get some parts to upgrade my TPI. If I upgrade my TPI then runners and a manifold are definite, and I'll either port the hell out of my plenum, or get the superram plenum. I know the mini ram flows better up top, but is it really going to be worth it? I could put the extra money into better heads. I'd really like input from people with the mini ram, or upgraded TPI setups, especially if on stroker motors. I plan to run between 9.8:1 and 10.2:1 compression, with most likely Trick Flow or AFR heads, a decent sized cam, as well as a 6spd, and 3.42 rear. Please advise. Thanks

Do a search on MiniRam. You'll get more information that you bargain for. You are WAY off-base about $2K. That number is totally off. MiniRam + Fuel Rail Kit = $895 + $295 = $1190. Where do you get $2K??? Don't even think about counting the cost of a PROM because no matter what you do you will need a new PROM. I 'decent sized cam' and a 'good set of heads' will require a significant PROM change no matter what intake you run.

Gunning for NA 11's with bigger cam, bigger stall, and bigger exhaust.

Yeah, I know I won't need the prom, forgot that while reading their page. They also say that I'd need their wiring harness, or that's how they make it sound, but I don't think that's true now. I did do a search on the mini ram, after I posted though, and I think I have to go with aftermarket TPI, because there's no EGR on the mini ram, and I live in NY. But thanks for the help
