52mm throttlebody

would it be overkill?
gutted maf/air box, k&n, msd, accel cap/wires, ported plenium, stock manifolds but cat is gone and have 3.5 exhaust w/flowmaster, relocated mat, water/alochol injection, 1.6 rockers

This should have been posted in the TPI section but since it's here I'll reply!!

You don't need the 52mm throttle body if you have the MAF and the stock chip because the ECM limitations will only allow the MAF to flow approx. 440 CFM (255gm/sec) max even with the gutted MAF! You actually MIGHT get close to 500 CFM with the gutted MAF!! However, the stock INTAKE is the most restrictive part on the TPI system and if you haven't done any work to it at all then the extra air that the 52mm throttle body will allow through is useless!! You said you ported the plenum but didn't say anything about the intake!! Until the intake is modified just stick with your stock 48mm throttle body!!

U don't need 1 until that engine is making lots of HP and TQ, from mods like heads and cam.
