This is a quote from the camaro technical data base on this site. I have one of these cars, I think, and I was wondering where this cooler is and what the basic operation is. I would guess there would be somthing in between the block and the oil filter, but I don't remember noticing anything unusual there when I change my oil last. I might be wrong, but is there any way my car didn't get one of these?

It's a sandwich style cooler that fits between the filter and the block. coolant runs through it to cool the oil.

two tubes run along the driver's side oil pan rail and no if your car is an original 350 car it had to come with the cooler

Mabey I just didn't notice it when I was under there. I did replace the radiator though, and I didn't notice any oil lines coming from the filter area of the block, just the tranny if I remember. Does this system tap coolent off of the radiator or somewhere else? If I wasen't 150 miles away from my car right now I'd just make my lazy *** take a look.

I dont recall any other lines (besides the tranny ones) coming from my radiator when I replaced it either.
There is a small silver metal tube that runs unerneath the lower rad support and loops back...
don't rememeber where it goes though and am too far away to check for awhile

i dont belive that the oil cooler lines run off the radiator for some reason. I forget where they come from, but i dont think they go to the radiator. now doesnt that seem strange???

Well, let me throw my .000000002 cents in here. I have an '89 350 B2L and when I first checked out the Tech Data I thought "Cool, I have an oil cooler". Guess what, no oil cooler of any type on my car. Bought the car brand new and it has the B2L rpo codes. Sometimes what is stated as fact is not actually what GM did.

Just thought I throw another wrench in here .

The oil cooler coolant lines come from the heater.
