I just couldn't help but stumble across this thread. Why not disconnect the knock sensor at the sensor itself? Just make sure you won't detonate after you do.
To do it, locate the sensor, it's round and at the passenger side of the engine block (underneath) near the starter just above the oil pan in a coolant drin hole. It's round and has 1 wire going to it. Squeeze the connector on it's side (long side, it's oval shaped)until it's round, not oval-shaped, then pull it straight off and tie it out of the way. If you break it and want to put it back on, get a new one or use clear high-temp RTV.
