Tranny making strange noise past 3k while in gear
Only happens when the car is at operating temperature and the tranny is warmed up enough. The clutch is brand new by the way and the T-5 tranny is the stock one.
I rev it past 3 k when in gear and the shifter handle rattles like crazy and the car makes this grinding type noise. It keeps making the noise until I put the car in neutral. And if I rev it past 3k in neutral it doenst make the noise. Could it be the synchros? It also grinds into 2nd sometimes

well i'm no expert but i pretend to be one on these boards. i'd be dropping the trans and/or having it checked out before it gets worse. not very often you'll find a noise or problem get better or fix it's self. i'd say gears, shift forks, or what ever controls the thrust in a t5, i've never had one apart to know.

Hrm. Well, we can pretty much rule out the syncros and shift forks because it's already in gear. The last two ideas I have are.....
Low fluid (hopefully refilled correctly on clutch replace)
and the dismal....
Stretched case causing a mis-meshing of gears. As with most things in the drivetrain, the faster they move, the more exact the clearences need to be.
