I'm in the process of building a motor, and I'm trying to decide what method of fuel delivery to use. I was going carbed, but then I found a TPI setup from an '85 vette on craigslist and picked it up (if I use it I'll at least upgrade to the '86-'89 ECM).
Here are the motor specs:
86 4 bolt 350 bored .060 over
machined stock rods with ARP bolts.
machined stock crank
Speed pro flat top hypereutectic pistons
Brodix IK180 70cc aluminum heads http://brodix.com/heads/ik.html
Crower 00240 cam (some people say I should go bigger but this is what was recommended by the machine shop) http://www.crower.com/misc/cam_spec/...0240&x=42&y=10
Scorpion 1.5 roller rockers
1 5/8" long-tube hedders
So my question is, will TPI benefit this setup? It looks like it will be a somewhat pricey swap considering upgrading to the '89 ECM, and if it's not going to be the best bang for the buck I'd rather spend the money on something else

you'll make alittle more power with carbed manifold or some other fuel intake like HSR/miniram/superram.
that cam is mild so it will work well with TPI. you'll have alot of torque and good driveability once tuned. But your powerband will be done by 4500rpms while you could be getting power to 5000-5200rpms with the right intake manifold. could be worth solid 20hp.
i know I saw a BIG gain with HSR over stock TPI on my L98 bolt on car
