i am planning to do S/R torker heads and TES headers. the only thing for me to pick out is the cam...GM production cams r cheaper than all others.is there a cam in there arsenal that would do well with s/r heads? it has to pass emisions and i would like to maintain my decent mileage 18-22 mpg it is my daily driver. i considered the LT4 production cam .or the LT4 hot cam or the zz3 cam...

Watch out on the cam you choose. If you have the 1.250 springs that come with the Torquer heads, they can only handle .500 lift and seat pressure is 100# at 1.7".This real installed hieght on mine was 1.85"
I now know why I brokew all the exhaust springs running .544 lift.

The ZZ3/ZZ4 cam is a great choice, especially with the larger exhaust duration you'll need for those crappy Edelcrock headers. My car made 280 HP and 380 TQ to the wheels with that cam, and ran low 13's.

The LT4 HOT cam might be too big, but there isnt anything between it and the ZZ4 from GM.

Dont even bother with the LT4 regular cam, its too small for you.
