anyone with tpis hints book please answer
i was wondering what fuel pressure was recommended by tpis for a maf car,i think it was 46 psi or so but i'm not sure, i think my car is running lean, i just turned the pressure down with no guage when my car was rich and then it ran lean now i am going to set it back and i wanted to know the best psi, i have a 350 tpi, headers, custom ram air, stock heads, cam, and fuel intake
Hey man I lived in Frederick all of my life..ever go there? TPiS are a bunch of retarded boasting ****ks. They say from like 47-52 psi on a stock motor..but that is silly mna..start at stock and work your way up..I have best results AT stock..my car runs so rich boosting it only hurts performance. good luck!

Yeah, u have to see whats the best setting for your car.
Stock is 42PSI, go from there to 55PSI, but don't go any higher because the stock PROM won't be able to read any more than that without giving u BS. Making PROM's set to your specifications would give nice gains in performance also.

Most likely you are pretty good with the fp you are running. Maybe you could go a tad higher due to the headers but I doubt it. I'm pretty close to you too. You ever come to Delaware to cruise? God knows there are too may roads to do it on.

TPIS recomends 46 PSI on a stock engine. I have played with my pressure and found that 42 PSI works the best with my combination of parts. All engines are not the same, adjust the pressure until maximium performance is acheived.
The insider hints book is a worthwhile investment. It gives you clues to what works and what does not. It also shows you what basic modifications need to be done on a TPI engine to extract more power and mileage.

Mine worked best with 46PSi on a 355 with 19# injectors. I had an SLP cam, 305 heads(dont ask why, explanation is a too long) Headers, full exhaust, COld Air, 58mm TB, Ignition and other goodies and I will tell you that it ran just fairly lean. I probably could have went as high as 48 and saw a few more ponies, but it seemed to run better at low speed on 46. Something to think about and compare with.
