Fuel Tank removale / draining

Hi, I need some help.

I somehow have a leak on top of my fuel tank. I started removeing it but I ahve a lot of fuel in it and when I tilt the tank the fuel runs out the hile that I am trying to fix. I tried siphoning the tank but can;t get a tube down the filler neck into the tank, is there a good way to drain the tank. I am at the point of considering drilling a hole in the bottom and letting it run out. Please help
