I have been working on my 89 5.7 Iroc for some time now and can not figure out whats keeping it from idleing. One day when I was coming home from work it lost power and started to putter off. It hasn't been able to keep an idle since then. I found that if I disconect the maf sensor however it will idle under what I understand is limp home mode. I tested all of the other sensors and they have come up ok. There is ground power to the maf sensor. I thought it might be the computer so I got one out of an 86' cavileer which supposedly was compatable. Pluged it up and it worked for about five minutes. The whole time it wasn't able to spit out codes or anything. I bought a new one and same problem. Could a bad maf sensor be causing all of this? Please help summers right around the corner and I need to get out with the t-tops off

if it idles better with the maf disconnected then its the maf.. buy a new one, not through gm though, unless you wanna get ripped off.<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2"> I found that if I disconect the maf sensor however it will idle under what I understand is limp home mode.
