Fuel sending unit

Hi,

I was putting my fuel pump / sending unit back in the tank and brok ehte purple wire connection right where it connects to the sender housing .... this looks liek where the variable reisistor is that will send the fuel level to the car. I tried solder the connector back together but it won't solder. The sender only has 20,000 miles on it and worked fine, I would like to reuse it, a shame to throw away just becasue of a checp connector. Does anyone know how to fix this or if the sender connection can be bought from some supply house ?

Thanks,
Derek
