How to test maf?

89 tpi 350 is running very very rich, im testing sensors, the tps was off so I adjusted it to .5 at zero throttle, next I went to the maf and im not sure how to test, and also it has a crack where the inner tube connects to the rest to the unit. so I need some solid test procedures and them opinion on the crack.
one more thing, I need a how to to test o2 sensors. thanks.

Re: How to test maf?

i'd like to know how to test it myself...but that crack most likely effects your problem A LOT...if there is any crack that can cause a vacuum/air leak, it will cause problems. you should prolly have that fixed...sorry i dont know how to test anything though lol.

Re: How to test maf?

no one knows??? Its just a mater of which wire is hot, which one is ref. ect.(I just dont want to fry it but poking around and hopping) So you all just replace them and hope your $200 guess was the right one??

**by the way the crack is in/on the sample tube not the outer casing**

Not for nothing, but you can't come at us like a **** because you didn't get an answer within five hours of asking a question.
It sounds like you have the basic idea of how to test, but you don't know which wires are what. I don't know either off the top of my head, but you can look in a Haynes, Chilton, or FSM for the appropriate wiring diagram to gain the info you need. I doubt you still have this problem a year later, but that would have been one way of going about getting an answer without offending the people you are asking.
Also, I believe that I have seen posts that explian the procedure, just try a few searches, you will probally find what you need within ten minutes. Good luck if you are still having an issue.
