Stalling prob & bad idle....
I just recently traded for an 89 Formula(350TPI) & 90 SHO. I'm having probs with the Formula. When its first started in the morning(or after sitting for awhile) it will stall on the first start, but be ok after that, but then it has a bad idle, and "feels" like it might die but doesn't. It doesn't set any codes. I also took off an Accel 300 ignition box, that the previous owner intalled. Could this possibly be a bad IAC sensor?

Based on that limited info, it could be many things, Does it black smoke out the exhaust when you first start it? Could be a/some leaky injector/s. Does it get suficient fuel pressure when you turn the key to the run position? Are the spark plugs in good shape?
You could try cleaning out the IAC passages & setting the base/curb idle correctly if it isn't already.
Also, if you haven't already, it would be a good idea to change the fuel filter, as well as the air filter, check timing & other basic tune up stuff.

Sounds like you need to set the IAC and/or it could (the IAC) be carboned up and need to be cleaned. Dont forget to recheck your tps setting after adjusting the IAC.
If you need help with any of this, ask.
