Please read if you have 52mm TB

What do you have in your car and what does it run.
I just swapped my 58mm Accel TB for a 52mm and would like to know what you guys with the 52mm are running (preferably naturally aspirated)
Thanks, Rick

Hey Tyler....sup man?
I swapped my 58mm for a 52mm....I hope I gain some MPH and et.
I know my MPH didn't change at all with the 58mm.....it was just the same with the stocker....but then again, back then i didnt have the cam in.
My car is running like crap and it's been down for like 10 days due to tranny failure (pump, converter and flexplate)....piece of ****.....now it backfire through the intake....to hell with it
How's your ride? still need the scanner?
Rick

I swapped from a stock 48mm TB to a TPIS 52mm TB a long time ago at the track, and I dont think I gained much. However this was with a stock-type engine, and no where near the power I have now... I think I gained a couple hundreths and .25 MPH, but it was later in the day, and hotter.

Anyone else has experience with the 52mm???
I don't know what it was, but my friend spanked me big time in his 92 MR2 Turbo.......I could always catch him not matter how many cars ahead he was.
I guess I can kiss that 13.39 goodbye
My only hope is that my tranny was slipping or wasn't running right.

Hey Tyler.....My tranny is giving me a lot of trouble again....I just spent $700 and at this point I'm seriously thinking about swapping in a 4, 5 or 6 speed.
Can you send me an e-mail with more or less the parts I would need for the swap? How much was it on yours? And last but not least.....should I ever attempt this, your expertise would be very appreciated.
Thanks Rick

F22, here's a break down of my old motor before and after a 52mm TB: Before; 87' 350 TPI long block - 150K miles, TPIS super profile L98 cam, 1.52 roller tip rockers, ported plenum and base, Accel runners, Adj. FPR, 24 lb injectors, custom chip, 1&5/8" Tri-Y headers, no cat., stock exhaust with Hooker Aerochamber muffler, K&N's, air foil, free mods. My ET was a 13.248 @ 101.74.

About a week later, I added the 52 mm TB, the weather was near identical.I pulled a 13.042 @ 102.24 on the first pass. I was happy with that and parked it.

So, I got a solid 2 tenth reduction it ET. It also made a cool wistling sound like a SC at low speeds. Hope this helped.
