Re: For my folks that got scammed
I bought my HSR manifold for $300, then spent $180 on the non-adjustable kit from summit racing.
Summit has the manifold/base for $309, and the non-adj rail kit for $180, adjustable rail kit for $230.
I'm sure that Thunderracing will price match it.

Re: For my folks that got scammed
It says on Summit that manifold does NOT work for our cars, well past 86 anyways, and they also say for the vortec heads. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Works just fine. You'll need beveled square spacers for the 4 center intake bolts to adapt the intake for a later 87+ heads. The 4 center holes were drilled at 90* versus the older heads which it had them at 72* like earlier heads. The spacers are available from McMasterCarr's website for about $6 + shipping for 8, you'll only need 4.
I had it on my 89 GTA with latermodel heads.
You'll also need a small cap distributor with remote coil if you don't have one. You can snag one from any 87+ 305/350 tbi/tpi engine. There are already articles on the net.
If you want more specific information go to www.stealthram.com for more info.
Beveled spacers - Part# 92810A130 on www.mcmastercarr.com
You might need slightly longer bolts to adjust for the difference. However I reused the stock ones without any leaks. You can see how the spacers are used in the attached pic. Sorry for the dirty engine bay, I spilled a little oil and didn't clean it up.

Hm, looks cool, can you use the TPI Throttle body, 'cause I would hate to get rid of my BBK TB.

tpi throttle bodies work just fine.
one question, will these spacers work to adapt 87+ heads to any pre 87 intake?

Re: For my folks that got scammed
For the throttle body you will probably need to slightly bend the nautilus style throttle cable bracket to clear the fuel rail. Or you can clearance it with a dremel to make it fit.
The HSR is a very cost effective upgrade. Minor loss below 4000rpm, but after that you'll gain nearly 1,000rpm of extra power to play with. The other intake that looks promising is the BBK Turtle Ram which will be emissions legal, but hasn't been released yet, and no firm date either. A real tune is a must though.
If I were to build another TPI car I'd go HSR or converted LT1 intake no questions asked.
