new TPS bad?

first my car has 40k miles with full exhaust with headers ported intake and some bolt-ons.
ive been having cold start problems. so i did a tune, cap, rotor, NGK plugs, MSD wires, new IAC, FMU, tested the fuel pump and was fine.
so the last thing i tried was a new TPS. when i put the new one in it started right up but idles about 2000rpms and now i have a check engine light. threw the old one back in and no check engine and idles about 800.
im lost on this one any help?

Re: new TPS bad?

Correct, around 0.5V with closed throttle, close to 5V at WOT. You can test it with a voltmeter and the key on. Test the blue wire on the TPS.

If you replaced the new TPS with the old one and that corrected the problem, I'd suspect the new TPS.
