Ticking SVO injectors

Just to let you know, my SVO #24 injectors ticked very loudly after the install. I took some 1/16 rubber washers and installed them between the fuel rail bolts and the intake fuel rail bolt towers. Torqued everything down, probably flattening the washers to 1/32". The ticking is gone, sounds like any other TPI again! My injectors sit pretty far in the holes and my clips worked and I used GM o-rings so I'm not worried about leaks.

Thanks for the FYI....I have a set of 30s for the 406 IM building. I just might try the rubber washer trick myself. I really dont know what to expect with these injectors. Some are having problems with them.

So you used GM O rings? whats wrong with the ones that come with the injectors? Slightly different size?

Mike

Maybe, maybe not. I have a set of 30's I just got about a month ago, the o-rings are exactly the same size as the GM ones. You'll have to take a look for sure, I have heard about some being smaller although I dont know for sure.

I'm pretty sure I used the o-rings that came with the SVO's and they fit very nicely in my edelbrock intake. I've heard that SVO's sit rather deep in the edelbrock and part of the injector actually touches the intake, causing the loud ticking (sound travels through a solid better...).
I've been monitoring for leaks and everything is great.

Yep...They fit nice...I Just tried one in my Accel base and no problems. Have to wait and see how they work with the fuel rail installed.

I would have probably tried the Accel ones. If they would have been out at the time I started this project. Even though they look like the same damn injector just a different color.

Im having a similar problem with a edelbrock baseplate, and SV0 36# injectors. Its soo loud, you can feel it through the rail, the lines, etc.

I'm curious if this could even trigger the knock sensor, which I'm seeing as an issue too.
