TPI/LT1 tb

Can anyone tell me what the difference is between a TPI and a Lt1/lt4 throttlebody? I'm building a motor with a tpi and am using various part to make it work. It's going in a 77 camero. I figure I would buy my linkage setup after I find a tb, but not sure I can use a lt1 type tb or not.

Thanks

Re: TPI/LT1 tb

the Lt1 tb has a different IAC and as far as the linkage you will need a 93 TB cause it has the provision for TV cable.

Re: TPI/LT1 tb

if you have a manual, you won't have to worry about the tv cable. the tv cable is an automatic thing.

Re: TPI/LT1 tb

ah....the kickdown cable on a th350 isn't quite the same thing as the tv cable on a 700r4. it shouldn't be too difficult to set but will be easier if you get a throttle body for a '86-'93 because it has the bracketry for it.

Re: TPI/LT1 tb

ok, thanks. I bought the car for $400.00 Good straight body and glass, lights. Interiors not the best. Has a stroked 350 in it with bad heads. I'm converting the block to a full roller. I bought a lt4 hotcam, polished tpi unit, megasquirtII V.3 1.6 roller rockers and 487 heads from the early 70's. Doing a heavy port and polish on the heads and gutting the intake base to shorten the runners to about 3 or 4 inchs and opening up the plenium at the tb. By gutting the base, I'll have 2 runner tubes feeding each cyl. At worst, I'll have to buy a new base.. I hope.

thanks
