350 efi to tpi help

k guys... my lb9 just recently crapped the bed when the head cracked on me... i did some looking and ended up with a brand new 355 efi engine for free. woohoo. frees good..( thanks girlfriends dad) now i have some questions about changing the fuel system on the 350efi to tpi. would it be possible for me to change heads on the efi to a chevy 350 tpi performance head and from there up put on all the 305 tpi gear. i know ill have to go with 22 lb injectors, change the knock sensor, and get a diff ecm. wat you think

Re: 350 efi to tpi help

Just make sure these performance heads that your planning on can be used in conjunction with whatever year your LB9 TPI intake was produced. If your using pre-86 cylinder heads w/an '87-up LB9 intake manifold, you'll need to elongate the four middle bolts on the intake manifold so it will be able to seat properly to the cylinder head. Also, you can keep the original ECM, just change the memcal (chip)....

Re: 350 efi to tpi help

I'm missing something. tpi (tuned port injection) is a form of efi (electronic fuel injection). What injection system does the new motor currently have?

could be throttle body....

Make sure you use injectors from a 350 and not the 305.

yes its a throttle body... my girlfriends dad was gonna put it in his truck but unfortunatly some lady totalled his truck before he could . its a 355 from jegs. so as long as i got the right heads the tpi system from my 305 will fit right?
