injector swap questions
I was just wondering if there was a good article on this procedure somewhere or if someone could tell me what is involved in doing an injector swap. Also, what other parts will I need?
Thanks for any help.

parts needed:
new injectors
new o rings for the injectors
new runner gaskets
first you need to releive the pressure in the fuel system, because if you don't you'll have fuel spraying all over the place when you disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel rail.to releive the pressure find the fuse for the fuel pump in your fuse block under the dash.start your car then pull the fuse for the fuel pump, the car will stall out.you can now safely disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel rail
the first thing to come off will be your plenum.disconnect any vacum lines, throttle, cruzi controll and T.V.(if you have an automatic)cables, electrical connections and your air cleaner from the plenum
AND REMEMBER WHERE THEY ALL WENT or label them if you are memory challanged
remove all of the bolts holding the plenum to the runners.make sure your not pulling any connections(vacum or elec.)with the plenum.
remove the runners from the intake base
remove the four 10mm bolts holding the fuel rail to the intake base.to remove the fuel rail you'll need to pry the injectors out of thier bores.use a thick screwdriver to pry them up and out of the bores.just be carefull not to damage them if you want to sell them or reuse them.
once you have the fuel rail and injectors off of the intake base remove the old injectors from the fuel rail(their not easy to remove)
put the new o rings on the new injectors and smear some sore of oil(motor oil is fine)on the o rings to help keep them lubed(and it make installing them alittle easier.....i said alittle)
install the injectors on to the fuel rail.it mite take some force to get the injectors into the injector holes.when you put the injectors and the fuel rail back onto the intake base make sure you put some of that oil on the new o rings.if you lube the o rings they'll last longer.
and from there you can pretty much do the reverse of the disassembly.just make sure you clean the plenum and runners real good.get all of the old gaskets off.
i will make a suggestion!while your at it install an Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator.you'll have it tore down to where you'll be abile to do it very easily
good luck
POSTERS-if i've left anything out please chime in.i'm no expert

I'd pry up on the fuel rails, not the injectors themselves. And new injectors should come with new o-rings, if they didnt I'd take em back.
There is a clip holding the injectors in place in the rails, it twists around the body of the injector. You will see a little tab at the top right next to the fuel rail, just twist that tab around... I use a screwdriver to do that.

Also remove the gas cap, sometimes the tank has some pressure that could create a mess even if you went through depressurizing the rails.
