How can i find out if my injectors are leaking? I can smell gas when i start my car in the morning+black smoke. Can I just replace the ones that leak or should i do all of them. The car has 256,000klms on it.

Probably the most cost effective thing to do is send them to Rich at Cruzin Performance:

http://www.cruzinperformance.com

he will flow match, rebuild and balance them for you to a 2% tolerance. It cost me about 100 bucks including the gasket set you need and the cold start valve.

I would recommend even though they come back with new o-rings to get the GM o-rings for about 20 bucks more. The are beefier and installation went easier and felt more secure with the GM o-rings, PN 17113544.

To check for your leak, find where the hard line turn to rubber. On mine, its on the drivers side, right behind the A/C compressor. Have a pressure gauge hooked up to the fuel rail, and have 2 vice grips ready. Turn the key on, after you hear the fuel pump stop (about 2secs) crimp off both lines with your vice grips. This way, you make sure that the rail is fully pressurized, and the fuel has nowhere to go except through the injectors, if one is leaking. If you hold pressure for something like 2 hours (could be wrong) everything is fine.

If it the line has 40psi won't it just go back through the crimped line. It seams like you would have to get them prety tight for this to work. Will this damage the soft line? Can I test them any other way.

Use two small C-clamps with a small piece of wood between the squeezing surfaces, this will prevent damage to the rubber line. I believe the G.M. TSB's state 20 minutes is a normal bleed down time.

I think those times are for the fuel pump. If it's perfectly sealed (hoses) it should hold for a long time. It definatly sounds like leaky injectors.
