CAM PROBLEM
CAM PROBLEM
DID A HEADS CAM SWAP ON MY 89 FORMULA 305 TPI. PUT A LT4 HOT CAM IN, 1.6 ROLLER ROCKERS, HEADS PORTED AND POLISHED WITH BIGGER INTAKE VALVES...... WELL PROBLEM IS TIMING IS SET CORRECTLY BUT THE CAR IS STILL RUNNING LIKE %^&%^. DO I NEED TO HAVE A CUSTOM BURNT CHIP OR WHAT IM NOT SURE. ABOUT TO GO OFF DEEP END PLEASE ANYYONE HELP.

Order from who? Keep in mind the 'performance' chips sold through places like Hypertech, ADS, Jet, etc etc will not help, it has to be a custom burn from someone who knows what they are doing.
You can try opening up the throttle plates by about 1-1.5 turns of the stop screw, and lowering the TPS setting to about .3-.4V and that may work as a band aid for now.

What kind of heads are you running. The stockers? Did you have the guides milled down for all the lift of that cam and the proper springs. You must have some serious lift with 1.6rr's.
THE HEADS ARE THE STOCK ONES, THEY HAVE BEEN VATED, A 3 ANGLE VALVA JOB, CUT THE SPRING POCKETS PORTED AND POLISH NEW MANLY STREET FLOW VALVE INTAKE VALVE ARE ALSO BIGGER THAN STOCK ( 1.94)I M USING THE SPRINGS THAT CAM WITH THE HOT CAM.
