yah it would work fine but, you'd be just as well or better off with a lt1 camshaft or production lt4 camshaft.......

plus they would be much cheaper like 20-50$ each

Re: will an lo3 cam work in an lb9

I have headers & a full 3" exhuast, I've intalled an accell ignition system, cap, rotor, coil, icm , 8mm wires. My plugs are burning white so I was thinking that a larger cam would allow more fuel in. Or maybe I should get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator?

so which one do you think? LT1 or LT4? or is it the same cam

IIRC if your plugs are white (like mine) you are getting to much air. Putting in a larger cam will put in even more air.

Re: will an lo3 cam work in an lb9

reading plugs on an efi engine is pretty tricky..... I'd go stick a scanner on the engine and see what the block learn reads and maybe throw a fuel pressure gauge on it.

no need for an afpr realy, most tend to hinder there performance by using 1 imo (at the same time i have 1 lol......) I think mine is bumped up to high currently anyways.

basically check your state of tune before trying to up your fuel pressure

and no the cam would hurt you if your running lean as stated below.

the lt1 and lt4 camshafts are different but, quite close spec wise.

the lt4 is a little bit more duration and the lt1 is a little more lift, both so very nominal that i doubt it would be noticable though. Both are a huge upgrade over the factory cams in any of these engines imo. I'd work on getting yours closer to a good state of tune before i worried about that if i were you though.... just my opinion.

f'n ford ~thank you for your input. I'm going to get a adjustable fuel pressure reg & guage. Then I'll look into prom burning. The car does run great so I don't want to mess it up to bad!
