NO INJECTOR PULSE.... TRICKSTER/ANYONE?
Hello all again. I have searched and researched for appox 6 hours, and troubleshot till blue! I have all the possible info, yet need I still have no smoking gun. Here goes.
I have a 1989 TPI with engine harness and VATS computer. The dash is a 1988 TPI GTA Digital dash setup. I have verified the C-100 and the C207 are both matched up, minus the DK BLUE for the VATS INPUT to the ECM. Now here is everything I have.
-- 2 volts coming off of the Purple/wht from the dizzy to ECM (DMM)
-- All grounds to ECM are verified. (DMM)
-- Steady 12 volt on both injector banks, to include the fuses. (test light)
-- car will run with ether
-- fuel system primes as advertised.
-- good spark, (like i said it runs with ether)
Can i just feed a 5 volt "primer" (like jumper the TPS voltage)to the DK BLUE? I don't think its the IGN module. thanks a bunch, with any luck i will go tobed and awake with a smoking gun. later shawn

Re: NO INJECTOR PULSE.... TRICKSTER/ANYONE?
if your talking about feeding 5 volts to the dk blue wire that goes from the VATS module to the ECM, no.
the ECM outputs 5 volts on that wire & the VATS module toggles it to around 2.5 volts when read with a DVMM. its a 50% duty cycle signal.
im not sure about an 89, but in the 90~92 VATS systems, the motor will start for about 2 seconds & then die if there is no signal from the VATS module.
does it set any codes?

No codes are set. Ok so it seems I either need to send a 3 volt (2 AA batteries)to the DK Blue, or wipe the chip. I have an ostrich but have never used it. Any more thoughts?

well, i fixed it. I just rewired the VATS box back into the 87 harness, and BAM the computer got it's 2.5 volts, and I got engine start. Good stuff. Now for coolant, and a proper shake down. Later and thanks

When my injectors would not open, it was the electronics in the distributor. I lost 3 weeks tracking this down.
