TB bypass?

Can someone tell how bypassing the coolant line to the throttle body helps? Also does anyone know if I should adjust the tps setting to .6 and advance the timing to 8 or 10 btdc if I have a performance resource eprom chip? Thanks fellas

The TB Bypass, keeps the hot coolant from running through the TB, so the TB should stay cooler, therefore reducing the incoming air temp. I run 12-13 deg. timing and always run 93 octane with no pinging. And the TPS setting would be fine at .6 as long as you set it properly! Hope this helps!

The throttle body was given a supply of coolant to keep it from freezing during the winter, so this coolant tends to warm up the incoming air. We know that cool air is more dense, so cool air good, warm air bad! Basically, doing this mod could possibly allow the incoming air to be cooler. (never seen evidence)

Oh crap not this again, were gonna be at about 40 replies in about 30 min. The coolent runs through throttle body during the winter time to keep it from freezing, but its useless in the summer time, because the coolent will be about 200* or so. which in turn heats the throttle body up to that temp, which in turn heats up the air. Bypassing the throttle body helps keep it cooler, in turn keeping the air cooler. colder air is more dense, which means more O2 for the engine. SOme people will say that bypassing the throttle body will cause the air to be to cold which will cause the MAT to have a low reading and cause the computer to think the car is in warm up mode or whatever. thats mostly BS in my opinion, cause then that would mean that a cold air intake would do the same thing. if its ok to install a cold air intake then its ok to do throttle body bypass. IT wont give u much if any HP, but if u combine that with other things, CAI, 160 temp, etc. then its nice to think it can help. if u have any more questions about my exlanation then plz feel free to ask.

Im working on Evidence!!! well actualy i have a temp sensor hooked up inside my intake, and i know that u can hook up one that reads the temp of the MAT sensor. but anyways, im gonna record some temps inside that hot black plastic intake, and then im gonna try some mod's CAI, insulate the intake hose etc and see if it runs cooler.
