I know this is the wrong forum, but I don't want to start a new topic just for this one small question, but what years and modles did the TBI come with?

TBI came on 87-92 Formula, Z28's and RS'.

It was only available with the POS 305 and possibly a V-6 in the mid-early 80's.

If you are considering buying a 305TBI car, take my advice and pass on it. You will spend as much money to make it go 14's as you would a 350 TPI car going 12's.
No flames, please

The newer the car you can find, with the biggest engine, the bigger the grin you will have on your face.

Have fun, and as always...wear protection. (I mean a seat belt!)

Actually the V6 has MPFI from 85-92, which is the same as TPI. Before that it was a carb.

TBI came on 88-92 F-bodies (all models from 88-89, and base models only from 90-92), and the 84 Corvette had Crossfire. The V6's were carb in 82-84, and MPFI from 85-92. The 87 F-bodies had LG4 or TPI. Check the Tech Database on this site for more info.

Anything else?

well sincve your car is an RS, if it is an 8 cylinder, it has toilet bowl injection (TBI)

unless you have the BC4 option(not likely)

it is very easy to tell the difference. TBI kinda looks like a carb set up with the air cleaner on top of the engine. TPI is totally different
